Key responsibilities will include:

 

Produce accurate and timely monthly and yearly management accounts and financial statements

Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing with complete capture of all transactions.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare weekly, monthly, and periodic management reports, with analytical reviews and variance analysis on actuals vs. budget and prior performance.

Conduct project profitability and variance analysis.

Provide actionable commentary, highlighting trends and assist in producing monthly project reports for decision support.

ERP and IT System Integration

Participate in the ERP rollout team for Sage and other integrated IT programs, including SAPB1 for cost accounting and production analysis.

Cost Accounting & Production Cost Control

Compile and report on costs of production/manufacturing, tracking cost of goods sold and gross margin by product.

Support Operations/Production teams in controlling production costs and comparing actuals with budgeted costs.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the budgeting and forecasting process, assisting the CFO with the company’s annual budget and periodic updates.

Fixed Assets Management

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Fixed Assets Register, managing additions, disposals, depreciation and revaluations.

Ensure timely capitalisation of work-in-progress items.

Capital Expenditure Management

Monitor and manage capital expenditure versus budget.

Financial KPIs Monitoring

Monitor, report, and analyse key financial performance indicators (KPIs).

Audit Support

Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and resolving audit action items within agreed timelines.

Cross-functional Financial Support

Collaborate with finance and management teams on reporting and control activities, supporting senior management on relevant projects as they arise.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Professional accounting qualification in any of the following CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting.

Skills /Attributes/Knowledge Required

• Strong proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sound ERP knowledge. Experience and knowledge with the SAP or SAPB1 systems would be an advantage.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills. Committed to get the job done within required timelines, strong time management skills and ability to prioritise.
• Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills beyond data generation, demonstrated initiative and ability to probe and follow up on issues. An innovative approach to problem solving.
• Good interpersonal skills, proactive approach to seeking information and a team player with a positive attitude.
