With an annual cropping area of 2,800 hectares split into two seasons, Kisima Farm operates on a controlled traffic system under a zero-till regime. The farm employs a four-way rotation of wheat, canola, barley, and peas, supplemented by cover crops where conditions permit. Kisima Farm Limited is searching for an exceptional and self-motivated individual to take on the role of Arable Manager. The position demands a candidate who can seamlessly integrate into a large, well-resourced team, ready to tackle the unique challenges of the role. The position offers a competitive compensation package.
– Overseeing day-to-day farm operations with precision and efficiency.
– Managing a diverse team of 60 individuals.
– Upholding high standards of work, adhering to best practices and strict timelines.
– Leading innovation, research, and the implementation of new technologies.
– Enhancing regenerative agriculture practices.
– Maintaining high levels of health and safety standards.
– Assisting with a comprehensive trial program operated by an associated third party.
– Reporting and assisting with data collection and analysis as required.
– A BSc degree in Agriculture from a reputable university is essential, though closely related qualifications may be considered for exceptional candidates.
– Further training in BASIS is ideal.
– Extensive experience in large-scale arable operations is a must.
– Proficiency in operating large machinery and plant with modern software packages.
– An open-minded approach to new cultures, methods, and experiences.
– Practical, resourceful, and technically proficient, with the ability to maintain machinery and farming operations under all conditions and in shifts if necessary.
– Highly motivated, self-reliant, capable of working independently, and occasionally in isolation.
– Receptive to new technologies and alternative farming practices.
– Additional qualifications such as First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety are advantageous.
