Reporting to General Manager East Africa
Role purpose
To provide the Board, Managing Director and General Manager with Financial Management Reports, Board Financial Reports , Weekly cash flows and forecasts and Debtor and Creditor Reports. In addition to general accountancy functions such as Payroll /NSSF/NHIF you will be required to compile Year End official Company accounts for Auditor approval. You will be responsible for maintaining International and Domestic Bank accounts and VAT remittances on same.
Key activities include identifying international monetary markets to gain best value for company funds, P&L reports, Debt collection, Petty Cash Management, Project financial forecasts, Implementation of Financial policies and procedures and setting Cost and Revenue budgets with subsequent accurate weekly reporting on variances.
Key accountabilities or main areas of responsibility
Strategy & Planning Provide financial support to the Management team on Company financial performance within all departments.
Research international monetary markets to provide best value for Company funds
Develop the Company Financial strategies to ensure Company operates at maximum advantage at all times.
Revenue Generation
Ensure all debts are collected promptly and maintain a debtors manual
Set achievable revenue targets for each department and evaluate variables
Constantly identify all tax, cost and revenue benefits.
Ensure all creditors match Company credit policy
Maintain and report accurate Costs and Revenues and identify areas for cost saving / revenue generation
Time management
Complete monthly and weekly reports in a timely manner
Ensure payroll is compiled and actioned with agreed timelines
Ensure annual Audit is accurate and completed on time
Communication
Ensure that constant reporting to all departments is maintained
Ensure that good external relationships with Financial counterparts are developed
Ensure that Management are constantly aware of Financial situation
Qualifications
CPA (K)
Experience
Five years’ work experience within the commercial industry
( Preferably two years at Head of department level in an International Commercial environment)
Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks systems
Excellent PC skills
Experienced in reporting at Management and Board level
Proven ability to manage a small team
